Mr. Dontay Powell

1SG (Ret.) Dontay Powell joined the Scarlet Knight Battalion in September 2021 following his retirement from the Active Army, bringing more than two decades of leadership and organizational expertise to the development of future officers. He first served as the Battalion Logistics Technician, overseeing supply operations and training readiness, before assuming his current role as the Recruiting Operations Officer (ROO) in February 2023.

As ROO, Mr. Powell advises high school applicants, campus‑based students, and lateral entry candidates on the ROTC enrollment and scholarship process. He provides clear guidance on program requirements, commissioning pathways, and the broad range of opportunities available within Army ROTC. His mission is to identify, educate, and mentor motivated individuals seeking to commission as Officers in the United States Army.
