Mr. Evan Corman
Mr. Evan C. Corman is an Assistant Professor of Military Science with the Rutgers University Army ROTC program and a Civil Affairs Officer in the United States Army Reserve. He was commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer through Army ROTC at Shippensburg University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Military Science.
Mr. Corman served in the 82nd Airborne Division, where he held assignments in both infantry and field artillery units. He served with 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, where he gained experience in airborne infantry operations, small unit leadership, and expeditionary missions. He also served in 1st Battalion, 319th Field Artillery Regiment, where he developed expertise in fire support planning, integration of indirect fires, and maneuver support within a high tempo airborne environment.
He currently serves in the 404th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) reserve unit, where he supports civil-military operations, key leader engagements, and interagency coordination. His Civil Affairs experience includes planning and executing training events, conducting civil engagement missions, and advising on the integration of civilian considerations into military operations.
In addition to his military service, Mr. Corman brings a unique interdisciplinary background in history, archaeology, and museum studies. He earned a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University and has held roles as an archaeological field technician and museum professional. His experience in cultural resource management and public history informs his approach to Civil Affairs and leadership development.
At Rutgers, Mr. Corman instructs and mentors cadets in leadership, military doctrine, and tactics, with a focus on developing adaptive, critical thinking officers for the United States Army. He is committed to fostering disciplined, agile leaders prepared to operate in complex and dynamic environments.
