MAJ Jackson Hern
MAJ Jackson Hern joined the New Jersey Army National Guard as an SMP Cadet with C/2-113th IN in 2010. He commissioned as an Engineer Officer through Seton Hall ROTC, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. In his first assignment as platoon leader in the 150th Engineer Company, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 2013-2014. Upon redeployment, he served in various roles in the 104th BEB and 44th IBCT headquarters, including S3 reconnaissance officer, executive officer, and brigade strength manager. In 2018 after completing the Adjutant General Captain’s Career Course, he joined the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program as the full-time training officer of the 104th BEB and battalion S1. He then assumed company command of HHC/104th BEB. In 2021, he was reassigned to the Recruiting and Retention Battalion, first as specialty branch officer recruiter and then as the state officer strength manager.
